STEP, Stirling’s Business Support company has appointed Mike Barclay to steer the company’s Business Support activity.
STEP has been supporting businesses for over three decades, working across the Forth Valley helping companies start up, grow and innovate through the delivery of Business Gateway services and by investing 100% of what is generated into free business support activity across the region. Today STEP support over 3,000 businesses on average per year and manage over 200 spaces across five sites.
Vicky Murphy, HR Manager at STEP tells us “This new appointment provides the lead role in delivering a first-class Business Gateway service in Stirling, as well as increasing the funded business support activity that we offer at STEP. This role provides a central point of contact for businesses and is responsible for managing a range of high-quality business support at all stages of their business journey.”
Mike comes with over 20 years of business experience, specialising in business transformation and change management.
Mike said “COVID has expectedly had a dramatic impact on businesses across Scotland and new challenges are appearing daily. STEP will be at the core of supporting businesses to recover in and around Stirling and I’m excited to be a part of that. The Forth Valley has such a diverse range of business industries and it’s important STEP has a full business support programme to support each industry. My priority is to get to know businesses in-depth and find out what support will help them most.“
