OutreachPete (trading brand of Roundshark Ltd, a STEP tenant) was recently successful in their application for the Scottish Government DigitalBoost Development Grant.
This grant allowed a complete redesign of their customer facing website and it also allowed them to receive their own custom software developed to automate a lot of their laborious and manual processes.
Director Pete McAllister said: “I worked out that my team were spending upward of 80 hours a week just sending template emails to people as part of our process. We were working off a large communal organisation wide Google sheet to manage order data and people were tripping over each other. Also, supplier prices are constantly changing in our industry and we didn’t have a centralised sense-check of the most up to date pricing.”
“We had a small bespoke web development agency build a completely custom order management software for us. This final project takes away the scope for human error on a lot of our processes, has reduced mundane admin time by 50% and freed up the team to work on more strategic projects. This is fantastic as it gives the team more responsibility, a more satisfying working day and power to help drive the business rather than just see through processes.”
Pete also thanked STEP for their regular business support communication where he first found out about the Government grant.
