A STEP in history: Students Visit STEP for Introduction to Business Event

Throwback Thursday:

One Thursday every month we are taking a look back through STEP’s archives at business successes and stories of the past.

This month we are taking a look back to 2003 when the Stirling University Business Club visited STEP to attend an Introduction to Business event.

At this event, STEP delivered a Small Business Gateway promotional talk and an outline of the other services STEP can offer for start-ups and existing businesses. The students found out about STEP’s IT and business training, property services, including the business address facility, and support advisory services offered through Small Business Gateway.

Two local established entrepreneurs, Angela Flaws of Flawless Designs and Tony I’Anson of Stirling Internet, joined the group to impart some of their knowledge of running a small business in the Stirling area.

Jim Nicol, enterprise development manager at STEP, said: “With so many fresh ideas and motivated students at the university, SURE (Stirling University Research and Enterprise) will have the opportunity to assist young entrepreneurs to develop creative and exciting businesses.

“We are looking forward with our consortium partners to providing Small Business Gateway support and advice to these businesses.”
