Alloa based Circular Economy Solutions Limited is delighted to announce a significant milestone for their Power Shed © Off-Grid Power System. Installed for Network Rail at their Middlesbrough DU site, the system achieved full payback on its capital expenditure through operational savings on the 31st December 2023, after being installed and commissioned in September 2021.
Key Highlights:
- Rapid Payback: The system, which had a capex of £167,233, covered its costs in just 2 years and 3 months, generating £167,283.00 in Opex savings compared to full-time generators.
- Positive Cashflow: As of 31st December 2023, the Power Shed has contributed £10,661.00 towards Network Rail costs, marking it as a unique asset producing free electricity.
- Sustained Benefits: By 25th February 2024, the system has delivered £177,894.08 in Opex savings, operated with minimal service issues, and reduced emissions by 96.8 tonnes.
- Renewable Energy: During summer, all power is 100% renewable, and the system runs silently and efficiently with no moving parts.
- Durability and Warranty: Major components of the system are still under warranty, ensuring continued reliability and performance.
- The Power Shed system, designed and built in Scotland, features best-in-class passive electronics with 5-year warranties and substantial battery storage. Its containerised design allows for rapid site installation and minimal operational support, while remote monitoring ensures seamless operation.
