“EV Charging Shed” launches.
Circular Economy Solutions has launched the UK’s first off-grid, packaged and portable EV charging system. This follows the successful introduction of an off-grid Power Shed energy system designed to run homes and be used in smaller industrial applications.
A Power Shed has been used effectively and efficiently by Network Rail at their Middlesbrough facility for the last year and has saved over £75 in operational costs, reducing CO2 emissions by 42 tonnes. Network Rail have since procured additional systems and the system has now been ordered for residential sites.
The EV Charger Shed system is designed for clients who have temporary or semi-permanent (no supporting infrastructure) sites and want to have a system dedicated to charging EV’s.
The EV Charger Shed is designed to provide sufficient charging power to charge two EV’s every day completely from renewable energy, whilst being completely off-grid and without the need for any other power source.
A standby Generator is incorporated in the unit, to provide additional charging power if needed, for instance charging additional vehicles and runs on HVO diesel fuel which in itself reduces CO2 emissions by nearly 90% of normal diesels.
Solar lighting turns night into ALDI at Bathgate distribution centre.
Circular Economy Solutions was approached by the Operations Manager at ALDI Bathgate Distribution Centre. ALDI has a refuelling island which had no lighting and since becoming a 24-hour site, was causing challenges to drivers refuelling in the dark. The solution was to fit two column-mounted solar street lights which provide reliable and practical illumination of the fuel island ensuring activities are carried out safely and efficiently. These lights were installed in three hours from start to finish, no trenching, no ducting, no cabling, no electricity or source of ignition.

This latest product shall hopefully be well received as it will resolve and overcome real-world problems for our clients. A positive uptake could see manufacturing return to central Scotland providing quality jobs”.
Circular Economy Solutions earns Stornoway Trust
Circular Economy Solutions was awarded the single largest solar street lighting installation in Scotland. This contract involved the supply and installation of 29 solar street lights of the highest specification and all mounted on street lighting columns. These lights were deployed along the Shore Road track in front of Lews Castle. The trail is hugely popular with walkers, dog walkers, joggers, visitors and runners using the route all year round. The lighting will improve accessibility beyond daylight hours improving safety and security.
Callum Scott, Managing Director personally carried out the installation and commented that he was blown away by the reception of passers-by, all extremely receptive, positive and welcoming, making it all worthwhile.
The lighting was installed in four days, compared to conventional lighting which would have been around eight weeks. These lights are zero carbon and support the Governments Net Zero carbon ambitions.
Circular Economy Solutions continue to lobby and campaign for outdated Council standards and specifications to be amended to allow the use of solar lighting, saving time to install, reducing carbon emissions and saving money.
