In 2018, Scotland joined the Wellbeing Economy Alliance, a network of countries developing frameworks to measure social, economic and environmental factors in an attempt to move beyond GDP being the sole measurement of economic success

Sarah is passionate about creating a progressive economy – one that delivers for people and planet.
She is a trustee of Wellbeing Economy Alliance (WEAll) Scotland and a member of the WEAll Global Council. She is also a Visiting Professor at the University of Strathclyde, chair of North Ayrshire’s Community Wealth Building expert advisory group, a member of the Institute of Directors’ Sustainable Business advisory group and a member of the British Council’s Scotland Advisory Committee. She is a fellow of both the Royal Society of Arts and the Salzburg Global Seminars.
Her career spans the public and private sectors, most recently as chief executive of Co-operative Development Scotland where she championed progressive business models.
