Our Event Privacy Policy

This policy (together with our terms of useprivacy policy and any other documents referred to on it) sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you will be processed by us when you register online to attend a STEP event.

By booking to attend an event,  you consent to the collection retention and use of personal information in accordance with the terms of this policy.

What Information we collect

When you register to attend an event you will fill in registration details as part of this we may collect the following information:

  • Name
  • Contact information
  • Company information
  • Opt in information

How we will use your data

We may process your data to:

  • Process your booking.
  • Provide those who attend with delegate information.
  • Provide any speaker for partners with delegate information.
  • Report on the popularity and stats in relation to the event.
  • Contact you regarding your booking.
  • Undertake post-event feedback and evaluation.
  • Add your details to our newsletter list. (only where you have opted in)

Eventbrite

We use Eventbrite for event promotion and bookings. Please note that Eventbrite is a third-party service that is not owned or managed by STEP. You should refer to Eventbrite’s terms and conditions and privacy policy as we do not accept any responsibility or liability for their policies.

Sharing of information

Your data may be shared:

  • Event Speakers (for information purposes only)
  • Event Partners (for information purposes only)
  • Event Partners (for marketing or contact, only if you have opted in)

Retention of information

Personal information provided for the purposes of registering to attend an event will be deleted after 5 years. This is for the purpose of evaluation.

If you opt in to any contact or marketing your data will be retained in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Access to your information and correction

You have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you. If you would like a copy of this information, please contact us marketing@stepscotland.co.uk.

We want to make sure that your information is accurate and up to date. You may also ask us to correct or remove any inaccurate information.
