STEP Launches Up to £1,000 Start-Up Grants to Boost Local Entrepreneurs

STEP is thrilled to announce the availability of Start-Up Grants of up to £1,000 for new businesses within the Stirling Council area. These grants are part of our commitment to fostering local entrepreneurship, and innovation, supporting new ventures during their critical early stages.

The Start-Up Grant aims to provide financial support to individuals who are in the pre-start phase or have been trading for up to six months. This initiative is designed to help entrepreneurs cover essential start-up costs, enabling them to build a strong foundation for their business and contribute to the local economy.

Stirling boasts an impressive one-year business survival rate of 91.3% as of 2021, according to the Annual Business Demography – Survival 2024 figures. With the introduction of these grants, STEP aims to further enhance this success rate by providing new businesses with the financial support they need to thrive during their formative months.

The grant can be used for various business expenses from hardware, and software to registering a domain, marketing materials and other start-up necessities.

Applications are now open, and we encourage all eligible entrepreneurs to apply as soon as possible to take advantage of this opportunity.

The Start-Up Grant was made possible through funding provided by Stirling Council through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, a key component of the UK government’s Levelling Up agenda. This fund aims to boost local investment and improve life chances across the UK by supporting communities, local businesses, and skills development.
