2024 Employer of the Year: Blueberry Hill
Blueberry Hill Meals, a family-run frozen meals delivery service based in Stirling, was established in 2012 by Perthshire girl Emily Ogilvy. Emily started off cooking meals in her mum’s kitchen for a small handful of local people. The word spread that a local lass was creating tasty, home-cooked food and more and more people wanted to give them a try.
In 2014 Emily set up a kitchen in Stirling Enterprise Park and was joined by Head Chef, John, and General Manager, Sarah. From there, the Blueberry Hill team went from strength to strength. Emily’s sister, Victoria joined the team in 2019 to help develop the business and they have been continually supported by their parents, it’s a real family affair! From their humble beginnings rattling pots and pans in mum’s house, Blueberry Hill is now a thriving independent company serving happy customers across much of Central Scotland and beyond.
Blueberry Hill Meals Ltd has consistently gone above and beyond in their recruitment efforts, reaching out to the local Employer Engagement Forum to explore prospective candidates. They have appointed long-term unemployed people from the local area, supporting them into employment and helping them sustain opportunities. This commitment to inclusive hiring practices and fostering career opportunities showcases Blueberry Hill’s exemplary dedication to its employees’ well-being and advancement, making them truly deserving recipients of the Employer of the Year award.
