New name – Same game!
Forth Valley Rebound Therapy Services CIC first opened its doors at STEP’s Stirling Enterprise Park in August 2016. After qualifying as an Occupational Therapist in July 2017, founder Callum MacKinnon decided to adopt an all new innovative approach that focuses on using activity-based assessments to track an individual’s progress, to help improve each adult’s or child’s quality of life.
This involved moving premises to a larger space which includes a sensory area, trampoline and mobile hoist. The results from this new approach were so successful, the service was officially re branded bOunceT: Innovative Occupational Therapy® in August 2018 to reflect the flagship service.
Founder and Director, Callum recently awarded ‘Highly Commended Social Enterprise Champion – Under 26’ at the Social Enterprise Awards 2018 said:
“We offer a sensory space at our Play Room in STEP’s Stirling Enterprise Park – providing access to therapeutic play activities and ‘meaningful movement’ on/off a trampoline and within a padded sensory corner where there are lights, a swing and more! In addition to this cool adapted space, we assess and document an individual’s progress in relation to their desired goals. This information can be communicated with relevant family/carers and professionals involved in that child’s or adult’s care. The new brand, bOunceT, reflects our belief in researched and evidence-based programmes that are fun, engaging and get real results.”
Design company Art is an Option worked with the bOunceT team to develop a brand that reflected its key values in a fun, modern way. Trevor Andrews, creative Director from the design consultancy, said:
“It’s always a privilege to work with a client whose primary goal is to improve people’s quality of life. The new branding has been devised to communicate the enjoyment experienced as a result of their innovative therapies, together with serious physical benefits. The new brand combines bright vibrant colours along with putting the OT in capitals to highlight the professional Occupational Therapy thinking that underwrites the exercises.”
The social enterprise is positioning itself as being able to build on its current client base, working in partnership with local schools. Director, Callum has also taken on a co-working space in STEP’s shared space, conveniently located at the same location as the bOunceT Play Room, to extend his working environment without the upheaval and price tag involved in moving premises.
bOunceT is a multi-award-winning social enterprise which aims to improve the quality of life and participation in occupations (meaningful activities!) for children and adults with a range of physical and cognitive disabilities. Services include:
STEP's shared space offers co working and hot desking where you will have access to a desk, wi-fi, locker, tea and coffee, so you can simply turn up and plug-in!
