Corporate Social Responsibility

At STEP, we are passionate about how we can make a real difference to the community and environment in which we operate. Our corporate responsibility policy is underpinned by our core values and is at the heart of everything we do.

Promoting Equality

STEP is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to ensuring equal opportunities, fairness of treatment, dignity, work-life balance and the elimination of all forms of discrimination in the workplace for all staff and job applicants.  We aim to create a working environment in which all individuals are able to make best use of their skills, free from discrimination or harassment, and in which all decisions are based on merit.

Supporting Charities

We are dedicated to carrying out regular charitable activity including annual fundraising events and community involvement. We have a dedicated team made up of both staff and our business tenants who work in partnership to organise these activities.

STEP Charity of the Year

We are also dedicated to fundraising for local charities. Our Charity of the Year for 2016/17 is It’s Good 2 Give’s Ripple Retreat.

Voted for by staff at STEP, the charity offers support to young cancer patients and their families in Scotland. Did you know that 1600 children a year are diagnosed with cancer in the UK?

STEP has been supporting the Ripple Retreat by volunteering, as well as planning a number of fundraising business events throughout the year. The charity’s long-term goal was to reach £1.5 million to build the Ripple Retreat on the south bank of Loch Venachar. This was achieved, and the beautiful building is now complete and was officially opened in May 2017. It is now providing families that have children affected by cancer with a safe, restful place for short breaks.

Find out how you can donate directly to It’s Good 2 Give:

If you/ your business would like to donate to the Ripple Retreat, or would like to volunteer then charity founder Lynne would be thrilled! She is currently looking for people to help out with weeding the Ripple Retreat garden. For further info please call Tina on: 01786 463 416.

Thanks to all who attended our most recent Macmillan Coffee Morning. We raised a delicious £356.90. Looking forward to the next one!
